This event corresponds to the Capitalisation Conference of the Interreg MED MITOMED+ (Models of Integrated Tourism in the MEDiterranean Plus) project. It aimed to disseminate its results and encourage their replication beyond the project’s area. EU policy makers, destination managers, tourism professionals and regional and local policy makers attended the event.

The Intermediterranean Commission (IMC) of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR), which is partner of MITOMED+, organised the project's Capitalisation conference on Monday 7 October 2019 in Brussels, at the Delegation of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The event aimed to present the main outcomes of the project mainly through the presentation of the MED M&C Tourism Management Model and the on-going experiences of implementation into MITOMED+ pilot destinations and beyond. The event was attended by EU policy makers, destination managers, professionals in the tourism sector and regional and local policy makers, among others.

During the event the speakers and participants discussed about the implementation of a joint Mediterranean Maritime and Coastal tourism management model, its reflection in the policy of regional authorities in the field of sustainable tourism and in the EU agenda. On this occasion, policy recommendations were addressed to the policy makers in order to better defined a common framework for sustainable tourism development.
